As a favor to the newcomers out there. we thought we’d briefly cover some of the casino basics…just so you all know what to expect from our favorite online casinos.
Online casino games broadly fall into three categories: table games, slots games, and exotic games.
Table games are your casino classics: craps, blackjack, roulette, and baccarat.
Craps is a table game where you bet on various rolls (“throws) of the dice. Roulette is broadly similar but uses a large spinning wheel instead of dice. Blackjack and baccarat are both card games where one set of hands is pitted against another; in blackjack, the players try to beat the dealer’s hand, and in baccarat, players bet on either the “player” or “banker” hands.
You could definitely consider poker to belong to the table games group, but many casinos do not offer it alongside their other games (a separate section, even a separate website, usually offers poker software). Many online casinos will offer a single-player game that uses poker rules as the basis (from traditional video poker to numerous poker-inspired games such as Caribbean Stud and Pai Gow).
Slots games include classic “fruit machines” or “one-armed bandits” as well as modern video bonus slots with a zillion extra features like video games. To stretch the definition a little, we also often include video poker with the slots, and a few other “slot-like” games that simply don’t fit anywhere else (like pachinko). Scratch cards are an excellent source of instant gratification (and also rich in iron and folic acid!) and offer up some of the best chances of winning.
Exotics include games that don’t quite fit either definition, or that one doesn’t commonly find at casinos. Sic Bo, for instance, is a table game by nature, but it’s unusual enough to find itself on the “exotics” section of many online casinos. Odd little games like “Rock Paper Scissors” or video simulations of sports such as horse racing may also be found here. As software designers get more inventive, new games pop up and old games get strange new permutations.
These games are all tried and true. We’ve checked, double checked and even triple checked in order to ensure you have a wonderful experience. Fear not. You can give them a try and I am sure you will agree with our research. It seems that everything that matters when considering a game of this type is covered very well with these examples. You can’t just have one or two pieces. You have to have them all to complete the puzzle. We feel that is something to be very proud of indeed. So, congrats to these sites but know that you are the real winner here…
